Job Details

The successful candidate will teach core courses in the undergraduate major and will either practice or conduct research and scholarship in relevant psychology fields. Candidates should also be prepared to teach core and specialized courses in counseling psychology, personality theory, clinical psychology, abnormal psychology, and/or developmental psychology. The standard teaching load is 12 credits per semester. A record of strong scholarship in the candidate's field(s) of expertise as well as demonstrated engagement in the pedagogy of active student learning is required.

Qualifications:

Candidate must have a research doctorate Psy.D or Ph.D or a foreign equivalent to a U.S. doctoral degree in Psychology or related field. ABD candidates will be considered.

Experience Requirements:

The College of Humanities and Sciences at Thomas Jefferson University seeks to hire a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology with counseling and/or clinical experience and scholarship as well as teaching experience in any of the following teaching areas: counseling psychology, personality theory, clinical psychology, abnormal psychology, and developmental psychology. The ideal candidate has a record of excellence in teaching at the university level. A record of strong scholarship in the candidate's field(s) of expertise as well as demonstrated engagement in the pedagogy of active student learning is required. The candidate would be expected to serve as liaison with the master's program in community and trauma counseling.
