Job Description:
Our client, a global leader in the technology industry located in San Diego, recently opened a role on their team for a Manager of Technical Accounting to lead SEC reporting and provide technical accounting expertise across the organization. This role involves advising on complex transactions, managing accounting for acquisitions and dispositions, and implementing new accounting standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in technical accounting, financial reporting, and the ability to influence key decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file quarterly, annual, and other SEC reports.

  • Advise business units on accounting treatments for complex transactions.

  • Lead projects on acquisitions, dispositions, and new accounting guidance.

  • Provide technical expertise and support to senior management.

  • Manage and mentor direct reports, ensuring team success.

Qualifications:

  • CPA certification required.

  • 5+ years in a Big Four accounting firm.

  • Experience in the tech industry preferred.

  • Knowledge of XBRL tagging and financial reporting systems (e.g., WDesk, Oracle, HFM).

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a matrixed organization.
