Position Overview
Position Summary |
This position is responsible for standard general and detailed cleaning and disinfection in academic, administrative, and performance buildings on campus. This position also completes additional special projects such as (but not limited to) upholstery cleaning, equipment and supply moves, special restroom cleaning tasks, and floor care as assigned by supervision.
Work involves the cleaning and minor maintenance of an assigned area. Employee will perform a variety of duties in the care and cleaning of offices and other buildings. Duties may include physically strenuous activities such as moving heavy furniture, operating heavy cleaning equipment. and delivering large quantities of housekeeping supplies. Work is performed under close supervision guided by a daily schedule for general assignments. Duties include: high and low dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floor surfaces, stripping, waxing and buffing tile floors, cleaning/shampooing carpet. Maintaining bathroom areas in a sanitary state and replenishing paper supplies and soap as necessary. Cleaning windows, walls, woodwork and light fixtures. Will empty trash receptacles. Make minor repairs. May require shoveling snow from walks and drives.
Complete supply needs list and submit to supervisor. Report any mechanical, electrical,
HVAC , plumbing or carpentry problems or malfunctions to supervisor(i. e. broken windows, loose doorknobs, broken latches, overflowing plulmbing, etc.). Listens and responds to customer needs promptly and respectfully.
Communicates with fellow workers in a manner that allows work to be completed.
Other duties as assigned.
Listens to instructions, asks necessary questions to complete tasks.
Demonstrates an understanding of and maintains conditions that ensure a healthy and safe wroking environment. Makes sure equipment is working properly and report malfunctions of equipment as it occurs. Adhere to university safety and health standards wearing appropriate university issued personal protective equipment (
PPE) , supplies and materials. Clean equipment weekly. |

DJR).
Traditionally "student centers" are better known as "student unions" and function as the "living room" of the University. We are excited about our new addition, The Donald Julian Reaves Student Activities Center, as it brings back the traditional atmosphere of the "student union."
The Student Centers also feature a commuter's lounge, student government office, student organization office, food court, post office, game room, meditation room, bookstore, student dining hall, staff dining hall, multi-purpose rooms, conference rooms, the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Food Services, RAMCard Office, Registrar, Residence Life, Solutions Center, Student Accounts, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. |
