Facilities Management (FM) is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Plumber to support the department's goal of providing consistent, cost-effective, and reliable maintenance and service to University Central Grounds Zone customers. This role involves maintaining both historic and modern facilities, including Thomas Jefferson's Academical Village, which encompasses the Rotunda, Pavilions, Lawn & Range Student Rooms, as well as contemporary classroom buildings. The selected candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the plumbing systems of these diverse structures operate efficiently, blending the preservation of historic systems with the demands of modern infrastructure. This position is essential in upholding the quality, safety, and reliability of services provided to the university community. Senior Plumbers are responsible for similar duties as Plumbers but operate with advanced skill and greater independence. In this role, Senior Plumbers will direct, lead, and perform a wide variety of advanced repair, installation, and maintenance tasks on plumbing fixtures and related equipment. They will be responsible for independently installing, repairing, and replacing complex plumbing systems, while providing technical guidance and mentorship to lower-level plumbers. Additionally, they will respond to renovation projects and support maintenance work orders within the Central Grounds Zone, ensuring the efficient operation of plumbing systems while maintaining a safe and functional environment for all. This position requires a high level of expertise and leadership, as Senior Plumbers are entrusted with overseeing critical projects and ensuring the highest standards of service and safety. Compensation: The Anticipated Hiring Range for this position is $30 - $34 per hour ($62,400 - $70,720 Annually). This is a full-time position with UVA benefits. Employee benefits package highlights include:

Physical Demands: Employee must be able to variously sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, lift, pull, and use both hands-on repetitive tasks (including overhead tasks).
