The Sherwin-Williams Finance internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in Tax.

The internship features a singular Tax Compliance experience, where you'll learn federal, state, and local taxes.

You will gain meaningful exposure toprocesses and technologies that support our tax department, leading to financials results for the business, all while developing the skills necessary for a successful finance or accounting career., all while developing the skills necessary for a successful finance or accounting career.

This internship program is scheduled to begin Spring and designed to go until graduation of your undergraduate or masters.

Year Round: This role requires availability to work a minimum of 15 hours and maximum of 28 hours per week during the school year and maximum of 37.5 hours during the summer, with the ability to work at least one (1) year.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.



  • Assist with preparation of basic state and local income tax returns and supporting schedules
  • Calculation of state and local estimated tax payments
  • Support the preparation of federal income tax supporting schedules and calculations
  • Support income tax general ledger account reconciliations
  • Administrative responsibilities including scanning, coping, and mailing tax returns



Leadership Development:



  • Understanding practices and procedures that are in place to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of financial information.
  • Adjusting & verifying account balances in order to prepare accurate quarterly estimates and annual returns.
  • Opportunity to lead calculations of tax projects related to state and local tax credits and adjustments, along with making recommendations of process improvements.

Your video interview is reviewed by a member of our Recruitment team and our top candidates are invited to meet with out team in a virtual Microsoft teams panel interview.

Minimum Requirements



  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.
  • Must be enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Businessat the time of the internship
  • Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including overtime as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation



Preferred Qualifications



  • Be a rising or current Junior or Senior in college or university at the start of the internship program
  • Have prior school or work experience in finance, accounting, and business
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and/or Outlook)
  • Have previous experience working in a team-oriented setting including work experience, extracurricular activities, military service, etc.
  • Previous experience in the Sherwin-Williams Corporate Finance Internship Program
