A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Jason Radley, Ph.D. at the University of Iowa. Research in the Radley lab focuses on unraveling neural circuit mechanisms underlying stress resilience and susceptibility and using fiber photometry, optogenetics and chemogenetics, neuroanatomy and physiology. Highly enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals with a strong background in systems neuroscience, molecular mechanisms of disease and/or neuropharmacology are encouraged to apply.

REQUIREMENTS



  • PhD in psychological and brain sciences or closely related field.
  • Track record of research productivity and prior publications.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Expertise in neuroanatomy, small animal surgery, fiber photometry, or behavioral pharmacology.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS



  • Rodent stereotaxic surgery experience.
  • Experience with rodent behavioral assays and analysis.
  • Experience in techniques such asin situ hybridization.
  • Experience in optogenetics, fiber photometry, orin vivo calcium imaging through endoscopic lenses.
