Job Overview:

Under the supervision of Manager of Community Programs, the Community Programs Coordinator will assist with the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of activities, special events and programs within the community.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Previous work experience with children and young adults of all abilities.
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Certification or licensure for CTRS or similar allied health or creative arts profession required.
  • AHA BLS Provider certification required.

Preferred:

  • NCTRC certification, or eligibility, preferred.
  • Child Passenger Safety Technician preferred.
  • Water Safety Instructor certification or Adapted Aquatics Instructor certification perferred.
  • Certified Inclusivity Assessor certification preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Previous experience with sports, specifically adapted sports, is a plus.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Days to work
  • FT

Essential Functions:

  • Work with staff to provide appropriate adaptations and support for participants as needed within capabilities.
  • Evaluate and support staff for individual and departmental growth and programmatic quality improvement.
  • Establish opportunities to generate awareness and promote the Community Recreation programs and Safe Kids Union County/Safe Kids New Jersey.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with outside organizations through program advocacy, public speaking, and increasing public knowledge of the available programs to children and adolescents of all abilities.
