Westerville, OH

Part Time

9am-5pm
Wednesday-Friday-rotating Saturday

Inniswood Village located in Westerville, OH is an independent living, assisted living and memory care community with a team of health care professionals that is unmatched in the area!

We are seeking an Activities Assistant who will share in our vision to advance better living and care for seniors!

Our community of residents come from diverse backgrounds and are highly motivated, seeking social, intellectual, and creative engagement. To meet these needs, life enrichment assistants will help the team of staff program and facilitate activities such as:

Qualified candidates for this position offer:

  • Education:Completed high school education or equivalent.

  • Experience: Three to five years of working with the elderly required.

  • Must have good communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills

  • Reliable transportation

  • Must have working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and World Wide Web.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists the Director of Life Enrichment/Life Enrichment Leader in scheduling and developing life enrichment activities.

  • Assists in recruiting, directing, and supervising all volunteers.

  • Acts on behalf of the Director of Life Enrichment any time he/she is not in the facility.

  • Leads activities on scheduled workdays.

  • Planning and executing art and craft programs

  • Organizing community games like bingo, trivia, wordle, connections, cornhole, pickleball, beach volleyball, and more

  • Planning and hosting seasonal celebrations

  • Organizing programs such as men's group, armchair travel, happy hour, and game tournaments

Desired qualifications may include some of the following:

  • A background in teaching or leading educational programs

  • Experience in event planning

  • Knowledge of senior fitness and activities

  • A background in the arts, crafting, and/or gardening

  • An interest in history, theatrical, music, literary and design/visual arts

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Comfort with various technologies

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft

  • Ability to drive a 12-passenger bus

  • The ability to occasionally lift 30lbs
