Job Title: Structure Mechanic

Pay Rate: $24.94 - $27/hr. on w2 without benefits

Location: Indianapolis, IN 46219


Duration: 10 Months assignment with possible extension

Shift Schedule: 1st Shift & 2nd shift

Job Description:

  • Performs the following duties, and other related activities as assigned.
  • Must demonstrate competencies necessary to meet business requirements.
  • May perform as a member of a functional and/or cross- functional team.
  • Duties include assembly, disassembly, re-assembly, fabrication, screen, repair, adjustment, test and/or verification of complex electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural systems in accordance with common military, commercial, and aerospace specifications.
  • Typical systems include avionics, missiles, weapons controls, aircraft armament, bomb racks, launchers and associated equipment.
  • Electrical duties may include, but are not limited to, removal and installation of components, connectors, and wiring into cabinets, chassis, and console type assemblies.
  • Mechanical duties include, but are not limited to, removal, installation, and adjustment of mechanical parts to precise tolerances.
  • Structural duties may include, but are not limited to, light machining, sheet-metal work, drilling, riveting, and airframe repairs.



Experience required:

  • Must be able to perform duties using pneumatic tools, electric tools, hand tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • May perform informal, in-process checks on manufactured or processed items to assist authorized formal inspection and/or test personnel in determining product validation or assist other related job classifications when directed.


Knowledge required.

  • Must be able to read, interpret and analyze engineering drawings, production planning and other technical documents, as well as possess extensive knowledge of the varied and complex electronic, electromechanical and/or optical equipment/system(s) involved.


Essential physical/mental requirements:

  • Requires bending, reaching and lifting of objects within Vertex EHS guidelines.


  • Skill set and experience with performing mechanically inclined and disassembly work a high priority. Mechanical aptitude is a must.
  • Automotive, aircraft, biomedical, or racing industry are all industry areas that align with the required experience.
  • Submitted candidates will be required to drill, bolt, cut metal, splice wires, and vehicle modification.


Education Required:

  • High School degree or GED equivalent.
