Executive Protection Program Manager
The Executive Protection Program Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing all logistical aspects of a comprehensive executive protection program, including travel arrangements, security protocols, risk assessments, and coordination with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure the safety and security of high-level executives during domestic and international travel and events.
The Executive Protection Program Manager acts as the leader of a security detail for Senior Executives, making critical decisions in high-pressure situations to maintain their safety.
The Executive Protection Program Manager will oversee a contingent worker Executive Protection security staff and help direct their activities as it relates to executive protection.
Position Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment & Mitigation
- Conduct thorough threat assessments, identify potential risks, and develop detailed security plans to mitigate threats during executive travel and appearances.
- Monitor and analyze relevant intelligence information to stay informed about potential threats and adjust security plans accordingly.
- Coordinate security logistics for domestic and international travel, including advance site surveys, route planning and liaison with local law enforcement as needed.
- Supply risk-mitigated security and/or liaison with security details for high profile visitors with Executives.
Executive Protection Program and Vendor Management
- Develop and implement security plans for executive events, including conferences, meetings, and public appearances, coordinating with event organizers and local security personnel.
- Develop and implement crisis response protocols to address unexpected situations and emergencies during executive travel.
- Prepare technical operation plans based on the expert interpretation of analyzed threat analysis data.
- Direct, plan and carry out the most sensitive and complex operations projects.
- Manage the development and maintenance of methods and systems for measuring the degree to which the goals, objectives and metrics of the Executive Protection Program are being met.
- Lead and supervise a team of Contingent executive protection agents, assigning tasks, training oversight, and ensuring operational readiness.
- Vendor contract management.
- Coordination of scheduling and workhour review for contingent workers.
Communication & Collaboration
- Brief senior and executive management on the status of key employee and executive events.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Executive Assistants, Legal, Human Resources, Travel, and external partners like local law enforcement and security vendors to ensure seamless execution of security plans.
- Assist Executives with situational awareness training and personal safety responses; at times, this may include training for any party traveling with their Executives.
- Raise awareness within Comerica and with external partners about the issues of key employees and executive security services, such as risks to intellectual property at events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Security Management, or related field OR High School/GED with 5 years Corporate Security or related security experience
- 5 years of experience in executive protection, law enforcement or military background
- 5 years of experience working in highly dynamic environments with autonomy to act and execute decisions
- 5 years of experience working with physical security systems (CCTV, access control, alarm systems, etc.)
- 5 years of experience managing external vendors and contracts
- 5 years of experience communicating cross functionally with exceptional communication skills
- 3 years of experience supporting and interfacing with Executive level employees
- 3 years of experience in security planning, logistics coordination and operational management
Licenses/Certifications:
- First Aid/CPR/AED preferred
- Physical Security Professional (PSP) preferred
Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday
Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
