JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for initiating, administrating, and closing manufacturing jobs. This includes purchasing materials and managing vendor relationships, managing inventory, and the day to day administration for manufacturing.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Technical or business degree or equivalent combinations of technical and related experience.
  • Six years material/equipment purchasing and expediting experience related to the construction industry, including purchasing experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of procurement/vendor inspection techniques and requirements, accounting, financial management and business contract law required.
  • Experience working in an ERP system


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Experience in a related field preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Encourage and maintain profitable relationships with various suppliers to meet facility production plans by coordinating deliveries, shipping schedules and work orders; Negotiates prices and terms with suppliers.
  • Creating manufacturing jobs to add to the production schedule
  • Purchase materials for both inside and outside jobs
  • maintain full accountability for preparing manufacturing inventory, daily expected shipments, and past due items to determine quantities and order dates of materials to meet production schedule.
  • Resolve material discrepancies, minimize freight expenditures and reconcile inventory records.
  • Enter and maintain job costing for production flow and schedule.
  • Enter and maintain shop production hours for job costing and shop payroll
  • Maintain purchase order files, production job files and supplier files.
  • Prepare and distribute job cost completion file and all pertinent reports and registers.
  • Prepare various cost/statistical reports for management as required.
  • Work with the Engineering department to ensure completeness and accuracy of BOM's
  • Review of monthly WIP reports
  • Create, manage and close jobs in the accounting system.
  • Collaborate with accounts payable, sales, service department and outside vendors to ensure all purchasing requirements, problems, etc. are met/resolved.
  • Ensure compliance of all department procedures, policies, and work rules.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
