What's the role?

Northwestern Mutual is seeking a dedicated and hard-working Software Engineer who is passionate about continuous learning and furthering their expertise in the technology space. You will be responsible for ensuring communication compliance, as mandated by the SEC, to capture all communications effectively for both home and field offices.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

*Recommends efficiencies to current established development and continuous integration practices.
*Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues that may arise during the development and deployment of software projects.
*Conducts thorough code evaluation to ensure compliance with established coding standards and best practices
*Has an evolving understanding of system-wide architectural challenges.
*Contributes to technical discussions and decision-making processes within the team.
*May take on a mentoring role and provide guidance and support to junior technical talent

  • 2-4 years of experience with modern engineering tools, languages, and practices.
  • Proficiency with Java, JavaScript, .NET, and Python.
  • Hands-on experience in Java EE design and development.
  • Proficiency in designing and developing REST APIs and applications using Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Java, and Python.
  • Knowledgeable in API security and microservices resilience concepts.
  • Proven experience with cloud environments (AWS) and DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and build processes.
  • Expertise in using version control systems and repositories like Git, GitLab/GitHub, and Nexus/Artifactory.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$92,750.00

Pay Range - End:

$172,250.00

Geographic Specific Pay Structure:

205 - Structure 110: 102,060.00 USD - 189,540.00 USD 205 - Structure 115: 106,680.00 USD - 198,120.00 USD
