Nestled in the stunning mountains adjacent to Michaux State Forest, the South Mountain Restoration Center serves as a Long-Term Care Skilled Nursing Home Facility, proudly operated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
As a Maintenance Repairman 2, your primary responsibility will be to handle plumbing projects within the plumbing shop. This role involves executing essential tasks such as cutting and threading pipes, installing fixtures in bathrooms and kitchens, and managing heating, refrigeration, water, sewage, or gas systems.
However, you will partake in the maintenance and repair work across various trades and facility areas when needed. You will execute skilled tasks at a journeyman level, confidently applying your technical expertise to identify the most effective methods and procedures. In this role, you will take charge of your work, making decisions based on established policies, training, and your expertise and job knowledge. Although, you will work independently, effective communication and collaboration with the team are key. You will receive clear instructions, either verbally or in writing, often accompanied by helpful sketches or diagrams, to support your success and contribution to the team.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Schedule may change based on operational needs.
- This position may require overtime as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
