About the Position

The IT Services Technician Senior delivers exceptional customer service through reliable communication, accurate issue assessment, and effective resolutions that support county business processes. This role provides proactive, end-user-focused technical support for workstations, laptops, printers, virtual desktops, and other peripheral devices while acting as a subject matter expert in end-user computing. Responsibilities include comprehensive support for component systems and technologies, including but not limited to Windows and Mac operating systems, mobile device management (MDM), software deployment, and troubleshooting network connectivity issues. The IT Services Technician Senior will also lead initiatives to improve service delivery, develop technical documentation, and mentor junior technicians.

We Require

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Five years of related experience to include performing a combination of installing, loading, configuring microcomputer hardware and software, detecting/resolving computer and printer problems

  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education in an IT-related field may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 (deployment, administration, and end-user applications)

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and other MS productivity applications

  • One or more of the following certifications:

    • Microsoft Certified Professional

    • Microsoft SCCM Administration

    • CompTIA A+

    • CompTIA Server+

    • ITIL Foundations

  • Group Policy Administration proficiency

  • Active Directory Administration proficiency

Job Contributions

  • Performs advanced diagnostics, repair, installation, and configuration of desktop computing environments, including hardware components, operating systems, and peripheral devices

  • Manages service ticket queues, ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, and network-related issues while adhering to best practices and organizational standards

  • Implements system optimizations, firmware updates, and security configurations to maintain system integrity and performance

  • Manages the end-to-end lifecycle of mobile devices, including the provisioning, configuration, and enforcement of security policies to ensure device integrity and compliance with enterprise security standards

  • Implements advanced Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions to configure device profiles, deploy applications, enforce encryption, and apply remote management protocols

  • Continuously monitors device performance and security, leveraging real-time analytics and automated alerts to proactively identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and optimize user productivity while safeguarding sensitive corporate data

  • Administers and maintains comprehensive inventories for both Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments and physical desktop and laptop hardware, including peripherals

  • Utilizes advanced asset management systems to track and document the procurement, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle of all devices and associated software

  • Ensures alignment with organizational standards for hardware and software versions, enforces compliance with licensing agreements, and conducts periodic audits to identify discrepancies, optimize resource allocation, and support strategic IT planning and forecasting

  • Installs, configures, and maintains software applications across both Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and physical desktop environments, ensuring seamless integration, optimal performance, and compliance with organizational security protocols

  • Manages the deployment and lifecycle of applications, applying advanced configuration management practices, automating updates, and performing thorough testing to guarantee compatibility across diverse hardware platforms and virtualized environments

  • Additionally, ensures system performance metrics are met and enforces security policies to safeguard against vulnerabilities

Working Conditions

  • This position requires the employee in office/field or customer facing for all hours worked

  • Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing to a significant degree

  • Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
