Position Summary:

The Unit Coordinator at the Facility manages the clerical functions of the nursing unit necessary to provide patient care.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Organizes assigned activities in order to complete them in a timely fashion. Assists in organizing the unit and nurses' stations. Helps direct patient flow, retrieves charts form the physician's offices, tracks patient lab work and other documents; and monitors the admission lab turnaround.
• Demonstrates the ability to prioritize responsibilities. Must be able to work on all units as necessary.
• Initiates chart forms for patient admissions, transfers, and discharges; assembles admission charts.
• Maintains patients' charts in appropriate organizational and sequential order.
• Inventories unit stock ensuring availability of proper supplies.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One (1) year experience working with a psychiatric patient population and previous secretarial experience preferred.
