Position Overview

The Associate Director, Procurement CoE is a strategic people leader responsible for leading a dedicated team that collaborates with functional subject matter experts across the Source to Pay lifecycle and other areas that impact or influence the success of the procurement function. The role is an interactive leadership position responsible for overseeing cross functional, matrixed programs in partnership with key business owners to help cultivate procurements maturity to best in class. This may include, but is not limited to, leading the execution of large, complex mission-critical transformational efforts, prioritization, continuous improvement activities, procurement analytics, governance, organizational training and other programs that support the Procurement department as a strategic partner.

Essential Duties

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead a world class service organization that specializes in standardizing, optimizing, enhancing and continuing to innovate in partnership with the Procurement Leadership Team.
  • Facilitate with subject matter experts the development, evolution and tracking of an end-to-end multi-year procurement maturity roadmap, serving as a guidepost for continuous improvement activities. Including in these activities would factor in continued evolution of policy, procedures, process and system.
  • Facilitate the prioritization process with the Procurement Leadership team, ensuring alignment on resource optimization and development of best-in-class procurement practices, ensuring appropriate deployment of change management, training, adoption and monitoring of solution effectiveness.
  • Monitor and analyze impact of initiatives, evaluating potential risk and propose appropriate tradeoffs to the Procurement Leadership Team.
  • Ensure the development of procurement programs and processes designed to meet short- and long-term objectives of Procurement and Exact Sciences.
  • Having a strong sense of collaboration with source to pay functional business owners, accountable to the development, documentation and maintenance of source to pay governance, policies, procedures, processes, organizational training, organizational communications, and organizational analytics.
  • In partnership with the Procurement Leadership Team, lead organizational and project readiness, change management, adoption, and deployment of digital technology solutions to drive better stakeholder outcomes and maturity.
  • In partnership with the Procurement Leadership Team, lead the development of Procurement operational and success key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Optimize procurement processes through automation, technology, and best practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Partner closely with the greater Procurement organization, finance, legal, and business units to ensure seamless procurement execution and process optimization.
  • Establish, track, and improve performance indicators (KPIs) to measure procurement effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ethical practices, and procurement policies, standards and procedures.
  • Support the facilitation and rollout of new or modified policies and procedures based on industry best practices and compliance with applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Provide problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers. Identify value-generating opportunities.

  • Strong documentation, attention-to-detail, and procedure writing skills suitable for a GMP environment.

  • Ability to develop, transfer, and thoroughly document new processes and procedures.
  • Ability to organize, present, and convey complex problems or issues within and across other functions.

  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability and means to travel between various locations.
  • Ability to travel 15% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 8+ years of industry experience in a role or a field related to the essential duties of this role.
  • 6+ years of experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Procurement.
  • 4+ years of direct Procurement leadership experience.
  • Experience leading technology enhancements, change management methodologies and corporate adoption.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working within Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP.
  • Strong working knowledge with 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, and/or cGMP structured environments.
  • Certifications: Six Sigma Blackbelt, Prosci, CPSM, Coupa.

Salary Range:

$152,000.00 - $242,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
