Add to favorites Favorited View favorites Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $114,600 - Midpoint: $160,500 (Salaried E16) Department/Organization: 701105 - Office for Rsch Security & Export C Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm Job Summary: The Executive Director of Research Security and Export Control Compliance is responsible for the development, oversight, implementation, and management of the University-wide research security and export control compliance programs. Additional Department Summary: Provides senior level development, counsel, management, administrative, and fiscal oversight for Office for Research Security & Export Controls (ORSEC), and serves as a critical advisor to the Office for Research & Economic Development (ORED) Executive Leadership Team. Collaborates with all ORED units and with senior leadership across campus to supervise, develop and execute research security and export control compliance programs with internal and external partners for UA. Maintain the aptitude, drive, and experience to build the department of ORSEC from the ground up. Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and eight (8) years of contract management and/or research agreement experience; OR master's degree and six (6) years of contract management and/or research agreement experience. Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Due to U.S. export control regulations governing information, technology, and facilities accessed during the performance of this work, applicants must be: (1) U.S. citizens or nationals; (2) permanent residents; (3) asylees or refugees; OR (4) individuals otherwise described as "protected individuals" according to Title 8 U.S. Code Section 1324b(a)(3)(b). Skills and Knowledge: Broad understanding of research security compliance requirements of federal, state, and other regulatory agencies. Extensive knowledge of federal and institutional regulations on research security and export control and their application within a research-intensive higher education environment. Ability to conduct comprehensive, detailed analyses of complex regulations, and effectively and efficiently assess factual situations under those regulations and develop appropriate recommendations for action. High level of competency with systems applications and databases. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and organizational development skills. Proven leadership and personnel supervisory skills. Ability to be flexible, tactful, and diplomatic. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to innovate. Preferred Qualifications: Ten (10) years of experience in a leadership role in security, export control, risk assurance and compliance, preferred UL 2050 Certification.
