Job Description: The Cabin Mechanical Systems / Routing Engineer ensures STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) solutions for Cabin upgrades projects, the job holder is responsible and accountable for all electrical systems Tasks / Activities, and for the on-quality / on-time completion of associated deliverables. These tasks cover end to end activities from the customer requirements to the working party. Your working environment: The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe. Your challenges:
Representing the mechanical system team, reporting to the Project Manager / Multi-functional team. Analyzing the Pre-Mod configuration. Creating mechanical 3D models (ATA21/35/38/92 for plates and VU). Creating the mechanical structure breakdown and associated follow-up (ATA21/35/38/92 for plates and VU). Creating mechanical support drawings for ATA21/35/38/92 and associated installation drawings. Writing and/or approving the relevant technical/substantiation notes. Writing Installation Instructions.
Your boarding pass:
B.S. degree in engineering.(Mechanical /Aeronautic/Civil /Electrical Engineering) 6 years experience within the aviation industry, specifically aircraft cabin mechanical systems engineering and development process, and knowledge of associated design, certification and qualification requirements. Experience in mechanical conception, manufacturing processes and VU design (architecture, ventilation, smoke detection), Experience in mechanical installations (electrical routes, racks, plates, and associated bracketry) and substantiation associated with mechanical design, Experience with CATIA (including EHI / EHA modules) Knowledge in Aircraft Publications (AMM, IPC, ESPM...) Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ability to understand and mentor principles within assigned discipline. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical aircraft topics. Excellent communication, coordination, and organization skills. Ability to inter-relate with and motivate diverse teams. Authorized to work in the US.
Preferred experience in:
Knowledge of Airbus tools, Technical Directives (TDD92, TDD20), and System Installation Design Principles (SIDP92, SIDP20), Delegated signatory for mechanical systems / electrical routing within Airbus DOA, Knowledge of EASA Part 21 (DOA / POA), Part 145 and CS25 regulations requirements, Experience in technical project management. Experience in configuration management.

Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
