The Manager of Physical Security Operations is responsible for the security (tactical / strategical) operations in San Diego Site, so ASML can accomplish its business goals in a secured environment. The Manager of Physical Security Operations directs a team of Physical Security Specialists who jointly guarantee the security of all ASML assets in the specified location or region. A large part of the Manager Security's job will entail program and project management activities in order to implement and develop the desired state of professional Security Operations.

Role and responsibilities

  • Designing & rolling out security operations policy & strategies in San Diego region.
  • The performance of the physical security control room(s) in San Diego region location or regional area.
  • The performance of the badging desks in San Diego region.
  • Physical security incident management and escalation to crisis management if needed.
  • Responsible for physical access management for San Diego Region area.
  • Responsible for conducting, coordination investigations of physical security incidents with HR and CRE Director approval.
  • Driving, follow up and overseeing security-related documentation and records, such as security system diagrams, access control lists, and incident reports.
  • Driving (physical) security operations initiatives in San Diego and strive to professionalization and standardization.
  • Business Process Owner of (Physical) Security Operations policies, processes and standards and the deployment of those standards.
  • Responsible for the training & development program of security guards in the San Diego and strive to professionalization and standardization.
  • Proactively identify protection physical security risks for ASML.
  • Maintain relationships with law enforcement and other relevant government agencies.
  • Acting as a mentor, coach, counsel for stakeholder within CRE & ASML on tactical & strategical level regarding security operations.
  • Monitoring performance of daily (physical) security operations, balancing risks in a complex and continuous developing manufacturing and high-tech environment.
  • Periodically report on daily operations of the physical security controls and processes implemented to stakeholders.
  • Define guidelines and standards that support the level of (physical) Security of the ASML environment in the San Diego site.
  • Align with a diver's spectrum of stakeholders and drive decision-making and embedment of policies amongst senior management.
  • Develop vision and ambitions in the area of (physical) Security management, including topics like data management/AI/data science, and give advice to senior management about (future) developments and way forward.
  • End-responsibility for the performance of suppliers in the field (Think of periodic performance reviews such as SBR and QBR).
  • Contract management of third party security guarding services in San Diego region. Selection of security suppliers and personnel
  • Decide upon investments required to improve and/or develop (physical) Security Operations.

Education and experience

  • A Bachelor degree in (physical) security management / Integral Safety, or similar field required.
  • Master degree preferred.
  • 10 years working experience as a tactical/strategical Manager within the field of Physical Security Operations.
  • 5 years of people management experience required.
  • Proven track record of designing & rolling out physical security operations initiatives or strategies in a region with multiple countries or multiple sites experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Physical Security; Incident & crisis management on all levels including investigative experience.
  • Fluent in English both verbally & in writing.

  • Contributes to the execution of the annual plan activities.

  • Leads the review of existing operations and the implementation of innovation processes across the business to ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered.
  • Aligns with process owner on implications of improvements for the roadmap.
  • Drives changes according to the organization standard means and methods.

Other information

  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • May require travel 20% dependent on business needs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$117,000-195,000

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
