Your Role

As a Gensler Architect with our team in Tampa, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for our incredible clients. With you as part of the team, our designs have never been so engaging.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate on design projects, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and documentation
  • Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
  • Documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.)
  • Assist in resolving complex technical and design issues
  • Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination
  • Provide project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction
  • Manage the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited school
  • A master's degree in architecture is not required but is preferred
  • Registered/Licensed Architect
  • 15+ years of experience in the profession of large scale commercial architectural design
  • Proficiency with SketchUp, 3D Max, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not required
  • Proficiency with Revit, Grasshopper, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino, Enscape, and VRay is preferred
  • Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants
  • Experience working directly with contractors
  • Experience resolving complex technical and design issues
  • Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiple jurisdictions
  • Understanding of how buildings are constructed, along with the ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be done
  • Understanding of sustainable and universal design concepts
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
  • Previous experience in sustainable design projects preferable, especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel and /or Net Zero Building certification
