Position Highlights |
University Facility Services at the University of Arizona is looking for a qualified Access Control Technician to join our team. Our Access Control Technicians repair, install, and service cameras, alarms, and related hardware for the University of Arizona campus. The ideal candidate will have a background in all facets of the Access Control trade and will have the ability to independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide variety of cameras, alarms, and door hardware. Duties & Responsibilities |
Customer Service:
- Provide day-to-day support for all aspects of
the University's access control system.
- Create and deliver timely and professional
responses to customer inquiries or concerns in person, via email, or by telephone. - Investigate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and
implement customer solutions from acknowledgment to resolution. - Assist and support supervisor with customer
related tasks by consistently meeting and exceeding customer quality and productivity standards. - Meet established department performance
standards regarding product knowledge, systems, and operations.
Coordinate Contractor Work:
- Initiate and facilitate communication between
customers, project managers, and contractors. - Coordinate with security contractor on progress
of existing and new projects/jobs through completion.
Project Management:
- Serve as a primary resource for identifying and
communicating departmental issues. - Assist supervisor in creating design drawings.
- Maintain records of customer interactions or
transactions, recording details or inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as action taken. - Identify areas of improvement by analysis based
on the patterns, frequency, and complexity of support issues to create efficiency.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/transport 50lbs.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- In addition to the education and experience minimum qualifications, Apprenticeship program, technical training experience required.
- Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Low voltage wiring experience.
- Electrical experience.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
