Unit Overview: The Psychiatric Inpatient program at Trinitas Regional Medical Center (TRMC) is composed of six inpatient units with a total bed capacity of 110. The inpatient program admits patients five years of age or older who meet the criteria for inpatient admission. The program provides 24-hour-a-day, multidisciplinary, intensive treatment for patients with acute psychiatric disorders, cognitive impairment, and patients with autism and intellectual disabilities with varying medical complexities. The inpatient behavioral health services offer people with acute psychiatric crises who urgently require a safe environment, a supportive and structured milieu, and intensive psychiatric and physiological therapeutic intervention. The treatment program combines these elements into a unique and effective treatment program.

Qualifications:

  • Active New Jersey RN License or approved RN license required
  • BSN required
  • AHA BLS prior to start date required
  • Minimum four (4) years of clinical experience in Nursing
  • Previous experience in Behavioral Health required
  • Psychiatric-Mental Health certifications and/or national nursing certifications preferred
  • A proven track record of professional, leadership, and organizational skills is needed to manage a nursing unit which operates efficiently and which delivers quality patient care within the framework of the nursing process

Essential Functions: The Director oversees clinical care of children and adolescents in involuntary psychiatric holds, ensuring high standards of patient care, safety and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include leading interdisciplinary teams, developing treatment plans, supervising staff, monitoring patient outcomes, and ensuring legal and regulatory adherence. The role also involves managing budgets, resources and staffing, while collaborating with families and healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care.
