Director, Tax Provision and Federal Income Tax

As the Company's Director of Tax Provision and Federal Income Tax, this position will play a piviotal role in driving the financial success and compliance of the organization. This position will oversee and lead the Company's Federal, State, and International quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC740, as well as responsible for the overall Direct Tax function. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in income tax laws and regulations, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex tax issues. Your expertise and guidance will have a direct impact on the Company's financial reporting accuracy and help shape tax strategies.

This position is responsible for:



  • Direct and review the consolidated quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740, including the worldwide effective tax rate, deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances, and tax footnote. Gather data and prepare schedules for tax and financial statement auditors.
  • Assist with all aspects of Federal income tax compliance, including the preparation and review of tax returns and related filings. Identify and calculate income tax cash conservation / deferral to effectively and accurately manage cashflow. Review tax account reconciliations as needed.
  • Ensure proper purchase price accounting and compliance reporting of merger and acquisition transactions. Assess the impact of acquisitions and divestitures on the domestic tax group.
  • Maintain SOX internal control compliance, documentation and processes, while coordinating with external / internal auditors and outside service providers.
  • Assist with income tax audits and negotiations with tax authorities. Review proposed settlement workpapers and audit assessments.
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support.
  • Conduct tax accounting technical research on complex tax issues and provide recommendations.
  • Work closely with other departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure tax strategies align with overall business objectives.
  • Identify & support the implementation of process improvements to streamline tax compliance & accounting while creating consistency to minimize risk.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:



  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field


Preferred:



  • Certified Public Accountant
  • License to Practice Law
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or Taxation


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • 10+ years' experience in multinational public company tax provision and federal income tax, preferably in increasing leadership roles
  • Technical knowledge of income tax accounting standards and application of ASC 740
  • Experience with public company financial statement audits
