Job Details Genetics CounselorJob Description The Genetic Counselor provides genetic counseling by assessing family history of patients and/or families in cases of suspected hereditary syndromes. The GC assists patients and families to comprehend if they are at increased risk of developing diseases. Recommends gene testing when appropriate and provide results and follow-up counseling and recommendations for patients.
Education: Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling AND Experience: New graduate to 3 years' experience. Boarded/licensed experience preferred. Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements: Eligible for and then required Board Certification in Genetic Counseling.
