About the Role

As a Buyer in Procurement Operations, you will act as a key liaison between internal teams and external suppliers, managing day-to-day purchasing activities, resolving service issues, and identifying opportunities for savings and process improvement. You'll help support essential projects by ensuring timely and compliant procurement of goods and services while maintaining strong vendor relationships.


Key Responsibilities


  • Serve as the purchasing subject matter expert and primary resource for field operations staff.



  • Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness; process and place orders with approved suppliers.



  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, Parts, and Service.



  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate proposals for goods and services not covered under existing contracts.



  • Execute purchase orders in accordance with SOPs and procurement strategies, ensuring proper distribution and documentation.



  • Monitor and follow up on project purchase orders until completion.



  • Identify opportunities to consolidate local spend and reduce procurement costs.



  • Resolve pricing discrepancies, vendor issues, and payment disputes.



  • Relay cost changes and other updates to relevant stakeholders.



  • Support supplier performance evaluations and provide feedback when necessary.



  • Assist with special projects and reporting as assigned by management.




What You'll Bring


  • Working knowledge of Oracle ERP and Ariba Procure-to-Pay systems (or equivalent).



  • Strong understanding of purchasing fundamentals and procurement best practices.



  • Ability to lead by example in enforcing compliance, policies, and process standards.



  • Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external suppliers.



  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate cost-effectiveness and vendor performance.



  • Capable of reading and interpreting contracts and terms & conditions.



  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and cross-functional teams.



  • Proficiency in managing reports and data to support procurement decisions.
