Retail Banking Officer

Purpose:

While projecting a professional image; guide, direct, and manage the day-to-day activities of the Retail Banking department.

Exercise independent discretion and judgment in the development, implementation, and effectiveness of Retail Banking processes including Consumer Deposits, Consumer Lending, and Credit Cards. Actively engage in the management, planning, and leading of others to ensure accountability and expectations are defined and understood.

Ensure that all activities are conducted in compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Exercise management authority concerning reviews, promotions, and other duties of Retail Banking staff.

Use discretion and decision making to analyze and track results; independently develop recommendations, and resolve outstanding issues within the department.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure that customers and bankers are assisted promptly in person, by telephone, or electronically by meeting or exceeding Bank standards.
• Develop and execute strategies to support deposit growth, consumer lending, debit card usage, and non-interest income across the retail network.
• Collaborate with various corporate departments including Marketing, Digital Banking, and various product teams to design and roll out promotions, campaigns, and new product features.
• Monitor and analyze retail banking KPIs (e.g., deposit trends, loan performance, debit card penetration) to identify opportunities for growth and development.
• Evaluate Retail Banking processes and tools to identify efficiencies and ensure alignment with strategic goals and compliance standards.
• Work with lending teams and Operations to streamline consumer loan processes and support continued development of digital lending through platforms such as nCino.
• Assist in reimagining branch roles and performance metrics to align with a more advisory-driven and digitally-driven retail strategy.
• Update senior management on changes, improvements, issues, and opportunities related to Retail Banking.
• Serve as a liaison for the Bank with various software vendors to proactively identify efficiencies, needs, and opportunities related to programs and the flow of work for Retail Banking activities.
• Recruit, develop, and train new and existing staff members as required.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a related field with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA strongly preferred.

Typically requires 3 to 5, or more years of related work experience and the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the essential requirements of the job.

Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License issued by the state in which you reside.
