Job Overview

Within the Office of the Provost, the Accreditation & Curricular Operations (ACO) team, is vital for ensuring university compliance with state regulations and Higher Learning Commission standards. ACO manages the approval process for new academic programs, collaborating with governing bodies and the Graduate College while ensuring adherence to Ohio Department of Higher Education policies. ACO also supports the Ohio Articulation and Transfer Network initiatives, assisting departments with course submissions and endorsements.

Internally, ACO oversees the management of undergraduate and graduate curricula through the university's curriculum management system (eCurriculum), crucial for maintaining program quality and integrity. ACO also facilitates the configuration of Learning Communities, reserves enrollment spaces each semester, and ensures a smooth curriculum setup to foster student success. Additionally, the ACO team supports key leadership initiatives and committees with logistical planning.

Essential Functions

  • Design/create and conduct seminars, classes, workshops or programs. Examples of this work may include organizing workshops to support Accreditation and Curricular Operations initiatives and working with faculty leading large committees or working groups.
  • Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives. Review objectives to identify problems and solutions, prioritize solutions and develop action steps for program improvement. An example of this work may include supporting other staff or faculty with program and unit review tasks. This position may also assist with Learning Community configuration data and problem-solving to support accurate data collection.

  • Provide limited financial administrative support for program initiatives. This position may work with the University Accreditation Network to coordinate the logistics of external guest visits.
  • Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports. This position may require outreach to faculty, staff, or other stakeholders to gain information and feedback for a project and reporting findings to senior leadership. Another example may be compiling submissions for statewide policy initiatives for submissions with Ohio Articulation and Transfer Network, including Ohio Transfer 36 (OT36) in the state submission system.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to recruit students and program participants. An example of this work may involve the recruitment of faculty or staff for various events or committee assignments, tailored to the specific needs of the office.

Additional Essential Functions

  • Interact with staff, faculty, external agencies and other university departments. This position will frequently collaborate with faculty, particularly in managing the curriculum. Additionally, this position may engage with departments to refresh eCurriculum records for various courses or programs.
  • May conduct research and analyze relevant literature, other benchmark information to develop grant proposals, new program ideas and propose program changes.
  • May supervise student staff member(s).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. As departmental needs change, this position may be assigned to assist with new projects.
  • Hybrid work may be available based on the needs of the office once initial training is complete.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.
