Job Description:

Adolfson and Peterson Construction is currently hiring for an Accounting Specialist. This role will process information from and payments to material suppliers and general payable vendors. Will also assist with the preparation of owner and miscellaneous project invoices. This position provides support at the regional level.

Responsibilities

• Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
• Ensure financial operations are compliant with company expectations, processes, and controls.
  • Sort mail for the department.
  • Process daily bank deposits.
  • Verify coding on expense reports.
• Build and maintain good relations and communications with both internal and external customers, including vendors, subcontractors, and teammates.
  • Answer inquiries on the status of accounts from suppliers, general payables vendors, and teammates.
  • Work with team members to get invoices approved.
• Assist with processing vendor payments.
  • Code, enter, and scan material invoices into the accounting system; take available discounts as appropriate.
• Act as support for Office Coordinator/Manager.
  • Answer phones.
  • Fill in at front desk.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• History of experience and proven results including:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Accounts payable, accounts receivable, and construction accounting experience preferred. Experience and familiarity with the A/E/C industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with construction accounting software is a plus.
  • Understand GAAP is preferred.
• Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
• Developed skills (written, oral, and listening) to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
• Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints.
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
