About Stellar

At Stellar Industrial Supply, we believe every team member plays a vital role in our collective success. We encourage all employees to contribute beyond their defined responsibilities to support our mission of delivering exceptional service and value to our customers.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Metalworking Specialist with hands-on experience in the machining and metalworking industry to drive business growth in the Northeast region. While sales experience is preferred, our top priority is finding someone who can serve as a trusted technical resource for our customers. The ideal candidate will thrive on solving complex metalworking challenges, helping customers optimize tooling applications, and building long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical resource for customers in fabrication shops, machine shops, mills, forges, and foundries.

  • Identify customer needs and recommend metalworking tool solutions to improve productivity and efficiency.

  • Support new business development by collaborating with the Stellar commercial team and supplier partners.

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects through networking, referrals, and cold outreach.

  • Leverage supplier relationships and internal specialists to create value-added solutions.

  • Provide tooling alternatives and product application advice with a focus on preferred suppliers.

  • Secure RFQs and orders from both existing and prospective customers.

  • Document all activities, pipeline status, and opportunities in Proton AI CRM.

  • Submit Documented Cost Savings (DCS) reports on a regular basis.

  • Stay current with product training, technical knowledge, and application skills.

  • Plan and manage your territory strategically for growth and sustainability.

  • Attend factory training, regional sales meetings, and relevant industry events (overnight travel required).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of metalworking products such as cutting tools, oils, coolants, and lubricants.

  • Hands-on CNC machining experience is required.

  • Technical aptitude and the ability to interpret complex tooling and machining needs.

  • Strong communication skills and a passion for solving customer problems.

  • Highly organized and self-driven, with the ability to manage your schedule independently.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).

  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and clean driving record.

  • Flexibility for overnight travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Outside sales experience, particularly in industrial or MRO distribution.

  • Experience working directly with manufacturing customers in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or machining coursework are a plus.
