Main Responsibilities

* Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of OSHA/MSHA.
* Ensure a safe work environment by overseeing compliance with all safety policies.
* Communicate regularly with plant/dredge to ensure all processes are proceeding according to appropriate standards.
* Maintain constant awareness of surroundings including eye contact with ground personnel and recognize job site specific hazards.
* Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects
* Proper and safe start up and shut down of plant/dredge.
* Requires the ability to properly wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
* Monitoring operation of plant/dredge, making necessary adjustments and maintenance on plant/dredge, including oil levels and grease dredge.
* Demonstrate friendly and business-like attitude towards vendors, customers, truck drivers, fellow employees, and supervisors.
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Minimum of two (2) years' experience operating hydraulic dredges or large heavy equipment.
* Should have the ability to direct the production of day-to-day dredge operations safely and effectively with support from management.
* Must have a positive work history.
* Must have teamwork mentality.

Physical Demands

This job requires the ability to lift, pull, and push a minimum of 50 lbs., bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat twist, and climb heavy equipment several times throughout the day, and balance at heights up to 6 feet from ground level. In addition, you must have the ability to be on your feet regularly and use hands, arms, and legs repeatedly on the job. This includes frequently walking on sloped ground and slippery and uneven surfaces, as well as working in confined areas.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; and chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
