About the Opportunity

The initial main project is to analyze x-ray absorption spectroscopy, x-ray photoemission spectroscopy and x-ray diffraction data to help NASA understand how to optimize their superconducting devices. An additional project involves measurement and analysis of magnetic materials, including growth and characterization. This project will involve creating educational materials for students getting started in similar work.

Through August 14, 2025, the position will be 90% related to NASA activities and 10% related to magnetic materials. After that date, the position is likely to shift to 80% NASA and 20% magnetism. NASA activities will mostly be data analysis and paper writing. Magnetism activities will be characterization and developing training materials. Some mentoring of other students will be involved in both projects.
