Overview

Leverage your consulting and project management expertise to win opportunities and deliver high-quality technical consulting engagements for Esri customers. In this role, you will lead teams through all business development and implementation phases, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, build/configuration, and deployment. By collaborating closely with industry experts across the company, you will play a pivotal role in enabling customer success.

As a Sr. Project Manager, you will be responsible for:



  • Leading strategic engagements with key stakeholders on opportunity development, proposal development, and project execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives and managing expectations
  • Implementing project scope through the coordination of cross-functional teams, including professional services subject matter experts and our customers
  • Managing and mentoring project teams comprised of consultants and technical staff dedicated to supporting customers and their mission-critical systems and applications
  • Contribute to business growth by identifying opportunities to expand services, improve delivery methodologies, and enhance customer outcomes across project portfolios


Responsibilities



  • Manage complex technology projects and programs: Collaborate with Esri consultants to deliver high-quality solutions that align with project timelines, budget expectations, and customer objectives. Drive successful project outcomes by effectively managing and communicating scope, schedule, and budget to provide our customers and strategic partners with meaningful solutions.
  • Engage with our customers: Work with customers to understand the value of location within their workflows by creating outstanding proposals and winning work with strategic customers.
  • Develop and grow business:Lead business development by defining project and proposal strategies that further technology and implementation patterns with new and existing customers. Partner with Esri's practice managers and marketing and sales teams to develop new business strategies and actively influence strategic direction that shapes the future of the Delivery Department through leadership and forward-thinking projects.
  • Be a thought leader:Advise customers regarding innovative solutions using Esri technology and content to drive better decision-making. Recommend relevant strategies, architectures, and solutions and work with customers to prepare implementation and migration strategies.


Requirements



  • 8+ years of experience in managing IT-based and/or GIS projects
  • Capacity to clearly communicate complex ideas, whether to technical peers, non-technical peers, or customers
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and translate a customer's business goals, objectives, and strategies into technical plans and solutions
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written/verbal communication, multi-tasking, and presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, eagerness to learn, and ability to thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment
  • Proposal writing experience, including preparing executive summaries, solution definition, scope of services, staffing, and pricing
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Bachelor's in geography, computer science, GIS, or a related field


Recommended Qualifications



  • Demonstrated experience in GIS project management
  • Knowledge of and experience with technical solutions and implementations and/or robust application development principles and practices
  • Experience with ArcGIS, location-based services, geo-enabled apps, spatial analytics, or similar geospatial technology
  • Experience with current technology implementation patterns, including service-oriented and cloud-computing architecture
  • Relevant industry experience in commercial natural resources (oil and gas, renewables, pipeline, mining, agriculture, and forestry), airports, or state and local government
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Master's in geography, computer science, GIS, or a related field

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$104,000 $177,840 USD
