JOB MISSION:

As Product Safety Manager, you will execute and manage product safety policies designed to eliminate the risk associated with New Balance products and meet the global product safety requirements. Your key priorities include tracking global product safety regulation, devise and implement compliance action plan within the supply chain. You will be responsible for building streamline processes and solutions in collaboration with cross functional teams and maintain high standards of product safety.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Leading product safety strategy and policy execution across all business units and relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with global product safety laws and regulations (U.S., EU, Japan, Korea etc) for New Balance product portfolio; includes footwear, apparel, accessories, equipment and licensed product
  • Device and maintain product safety manual outlining global product safety & regulatory testing protocols in partnership with third party testing laboratories and implement them within supply chain.
  • Perform product safety reviews in collaboration with third party testing laboratories and provide safety call outs to New Balance cross functional teams.
  • Conduct New Balance teams and supplier training on product safety regulation developments and resolved any product safety testing issues or challenges.
  • Overseeing compliance with U.S. FDA's medical device regulations, including reviewing and officially signing off on all documentations submitted to the agency
  • Manage third-party testing laboratory invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in scientific discipline (Chemistry, Environmental Science or related disciplines)
  • 5+ years' experience managing product safety and compliance in brand or retail, or manufacturing environment
  • Direct experience engaging with regulatory authorities, associations, or standards bodies
  • Strong regulatory, chemistry and chemical testing background in the apparel and footwear industry
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy development, project management and program implementation
  • An unwavering commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Willing to travel as an when required (Domestic and International)

Flexible Work Schedule

Our North American hybrid model encourages rich in-person experiences, showcasing our commitment to teamwork and connection, while maintaining flexibility for associates. New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations. To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced "Work from Anywhere" (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year.
