*Description*
Looking for Home Equity Underwriters to join their Lending Team. Hours: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm or 8:30am to 5:30pm or 9am to 6pm <-- Flexible These individuals will be doing full cycle home equity Underwriting. Responsibilities: - Analyzes applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to make sound, consistent, and logical decisions on loan applications within established time frames. - Applies consistent decisions across all products and without bias or discrimination. Makes decisions consistent with federal and state regulations and investor policies and procedures in collaboration with other members of the underwriting team. - Sufficiently documents files/systems so members and team members fully understand the reasons for approval, denial, or counteroffer. - Analyzes loan documentation, personal and business financial statements, and any other financial information needed to support loan decisions. - Researches and explains loan calculations within all systems, and assists others as a subject matter expert on home equity products and maintains general knowledge of all loan products. - Applies in-depth knowledge of custom and credit scoring models and knows when to override the models. - Maintains an awareness of current market forces and conditions that affect loan underwriting, such as real estate secondary markets, local and national economy, competitor rates and products, membership product/service wants and needs, and local and regional housing market trends. - Identifies and suggests process or efficiency improvements related to area of responsibility. - Maintains confidentiality and security of applicant information and data at all times. *Skills & Qualifications* - 2+ years full cycle mortgage or home equity UNDERWRITING experience. - Experience in Home Equity, FHA, VA or Conventional Mortgages - attention to detail - Encompass system experience a plus *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
