What does a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting do at Swire Coca- Cola?

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Manager within corporate controllership team to lead and oversee various aspects of project accounting and corporate accounting. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing day-to-day project accounting activities, ensuring accurate reporting, and providing strategic financial oversight for a wide range of capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, including sustainability initiatives. They will also be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting for payroll, benefits, insurance, retirement plans, accident claims, and other corporate accounting analysis, reporting, and tasks. This position requires strong project management skills, advanced accounting knowledge, analytical and communication skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and collaborate with other departments.

Responsibilities:



  • Oversee day-to-day project accounting, ensuring accurate recording and tracking of project costs
  • Provide regular status updates on project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial performance
  • Prepare and review quarterly reports, highlighting key financial metrics, project performance, and variances
  • Assist in managing the capitalization processes, including labor and interest capitalization, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards
  • Manage cost segregation tracking to ensure proper allocation and categorization of project costs
  • Monitor and manage Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of project capital expenditures
  • Support the Owner Representative in providing financial insights and recommendations for project execution
  • Provide financial support for the CAPEX Investment Committee, preparing reports and analyses to guide investment decisions
  • Assist in the management and reporting of sustainability-related CAPEX projects, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting for sustainability initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures related to project accounting, while supporting improvements in processes
  • Collaborate with other departments including Finance business partners to ensure accurate cost reporting and forecasting
  • Oversee and perform the accounting functions for payroll, benefits, insurance, retirement plans, and accident claims
  • Prepare and review budgets and forecasts for assigned areas to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Direct and coordinate with consultants and experts to meet annual reporting requirements and record accurate financial estimates
  • Manage the annual 401k audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit
  • Assist with annual insurance renewal process through completion of applications and coordination with insurance brokers
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards
  • Perform month-end closing processes and prepare journal entries by compiling support and analyzing account information


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, CAPEX cost tracking, capitalization processes, and WBS management
