JOB SUMMARY:

The Head of Biomarker and Companion Diagnostics at AVEO Oncology, reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), is responsible for leading the development and execution of biomarker and companion diagnostic strategies to support the company's oncology pipeline. This role requires a strong background in oncology biomarker development, companion diagnostics, and clinical trial design.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

* Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive biomarker and companion diagnostic strategies aligned with AVEO Oncology's therapeutic objectives.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with clinical development, regulatory affairs, commercial teams, and external partners to integrate biomarker and diagnostic strategies into clinical trials.
* Clinical Trial Oversight: Design and oversee biomarker and diagnostic testing within clinical trials, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and scientific objectives.
* Regulatory Engagement: Lead interactions with regulatory agencies regarding companion diagnostic development and submissions.
* Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of scientists and professionals dedicated to biomarker and companion diagnostic development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE (BASIC QUALIFICATIONS):

* Education: PhD or MD with a focus on oncology, molecular biology, or a related field.
* Experience: A minimum of 10 years in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on biomarker and companion diagnostic development in oncology.
* Expertise: In-depth knowledge of biomarker discovery, assay development, clinical validation, and regulatory requirements for companion diagnostics.
* Skills: Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
