Overview
Responsible for the daily supervision of PSR staff and functions including OBGYN, Midwives, & OBGYN Residency. Assists the manager with changing scheduling and registration processes to improve patient throughput and satisfaction. Prepares staff schedule based on budget parameters and ensure adequate coverage for shifts. Establishes scheduling and registration error standards and audits scheduling and registration data compared to industry related benchmarks. Provides continuous feedback to staff to reduce error and enhance workflow processes. Participates and coordinates staff training needs including new employee job training. Performs as a working supervisor to meet department staffing and volume fluctuations. Works with clinical leadership to ensure provider schedules are efficient and free of scheduling errors. Enhance point of service collections to ensure financial stewardship. Monitors and maintains referrals, in-baskets, waitlists, and recall reports. Ensures department and leadership workques are worked and maintained daily. Responsible for building a cohesive team to improve employee satisfaction. Qualifications Certifications: Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) within 1 year - National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM), Education: , Work Experience: Responsibilities Performs essential job functions as direct reports Recommends and initiates various personnel actions including but not limited to hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and promotions; make work assignments and review and edit work of direct reports. Ensures staff members are adequately trained and are competent to perform all required job tasks Resolves work related issues or assists employees in solving work related issues Disciplinary action under the guidance of Human Resources and the Manager Resolves customer concerns, questions, and complaints by identifying problems and coordinating appropriate corrective action. Reports situation and resolution to supervisor. Assists management in maintaining and developing a budget for supplies and equipment. Ensures staff members are adequately trained and are competent to perform all required job tasks. Coordinates and oversees and oversees preceptor(s) for new staff members and clinical students Establishes daily work and desk assignments to ensure adequate staffing coverage and good customer service. Establishes standards for reducing registration errors. Reviews with staff on a regular basis registration errors and initiates necessary training to reduce errors. Assists staff in dealing with customer service issues and provides timely responses to concerns received from the Patient Relations Department. Assists department leadership in resolving staff work related issues, or assists employees in solving work related issues. Supervises and assists staff with job duties and responsibilities to ensure patient satisfaction and revenue cycle activities are achieved. Monitor Workques and ensure staff are keeping them up to date Assits in training new Patient Services Representatives and serves as a role model by conducting self in responsible, professional manner Scheduling and vacation approvals for all sites. Timekeeper in kronos for all staff and stay wihtin SVR targets; assist with the processing of payroll for his/her direct reports by maintaining employee edit requests, PL requests, etc. Meet and maintain all productivity targets and department goals that align with the strategic plan. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $25.5per hour - $42.59per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
