The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Tuberculosis Control Branch (TBCB) in partnership with UCSF, is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented financial services analyst to join the Resources Planning and Management Section (RPMS). The financial services analyst will be part of a team responsible for allocating and monitoring annual awards to augment Tuberculosis control activities in California's 61 local health jurisdictions (LHJs). This will include developing tracking and reporting methods, reviewing budget submissions against allocations, and ensuring that all standards and procedures are met. You'll collaborate with professionals at all levels to elevate funding issues, facilitate information sharing, and ensure fiscal accountability. This position conducts ongoing evaluations of local programs funded through local assistance and assists in developing strategies and recommendations for policy improvements.

Please note: This position is based in Richmond, CA and offers a hybrid work environment including both remote and office centered work. The standard for hybrid work is a minimum of four days per week in-person and up to one teleworking day per week. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department's operational business needs and subject to change at any time consistent with the CDPH Telework Program.
Starting salary range: $69,700-$71,000 per year.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $81,800 - $122,700 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Minimum 3+ years directly relevant experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
  • Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and data into reports.
  • The ability to work under pressure and deal with constraints which are often outside of your control.
