General Summary This position will be responsible for... * Researches and analyzes dangerous goods compliance, and service information, determining root cause and conducting trend analysis. * Utilities process management, quality improvement and customer/supplier techniques to problem solve and troubleshoots. * Reviews and prepares summary reports for management noting trends, identifying compliance and service risk areas, making recommendations for process and staffing improvement. Coordinates, compiles, and maintains information for safety management. * Develops and maintains policies, standards and procedures that ensure the legal and safe movement of dangerous goods shipments. * Assists in developing function specific and other applicable dangerous goods training and provides training. * Serves as information liaison between external customer and internal customers. Establishes various methods of regular communication with management and dangerous goods (DG) shippers/leaders. * Reviews, researches, and analyzes domestic, international and corporate dangerous goods standards/regulations to ensure company compliance. * Identifies potential issues and recommends solutions for conflicts with domestic and international dangerous goods regulations. * Guides the facilities on storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous material (HazMat) * Performs other duties as required You might be a great fit if... Education/Experience * Bachelor's degree/equivalent in safety or related discipline and six (6) years of directly related dangerous goods experience or high school diploma/GED and eight (8) years of directly related dangerous goods experience. Supervisory experience preferred. * Thorough knowledge of dangerous goods operations, service procedures and regulations. * Must be able to travel throughout the assigned region as business or customer needs to dictate. Certified Dangerous Goods Professional (CDGP) or Dangerous Goods Trainers Association (DGTA) certification preferred. * PC skills with MS Office required. * Strong investigative, audit, statistical and analytical skills. * Strong written and oral communications skills. * Strong interpersonal skills Physical/Cognitive Requirements With or without accommodation: * Ability to follow policies and procedures. * Ability to read, write and interpret information. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. * Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. * Ability to sit/walk/stand for duration of shift * Must possess visual acuity to perform essential job functions. * Ability to conduct physical tasks with a full range of motion throughout the warehouse environment. * Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 pounds FedEx Supply Chain, Inc., as well as its subsidiary companies,is an equal opportunity employer.
