Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek. Probationary period will not apply to shift changes.

Reporting to Women's Health Leadership, the Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) contributes standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing's Social Policy Statement. The Licensed Practical Nurse actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced score card performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center for Women's Health OB/GYN.

TheLPNparticipates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice, standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. TheLPNdemonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served. He/she is committed to maintaining the standards of the practice of nursing and is responsible for the delivery of care to the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or elderly patient within their scope of practice.LPNis responsible for chaperoning, education, venipuncture panels, patient clinical flow, high level disinfection and maintenance, and other clinical duties as assigned within their scope of work.

Please note: This position may travel to the other Women's Health OB/GYN locations within NYC and Westchester areas (Eastchester, Scarsdale, Bronx East, Kossuth, Hartsdale, Wakefield, Weiler and Moses campuses) as needed.

Education/Skills required:

High school diploma/ GED required.

New York State License for Practical Nurse and current registration to practice as anLPNin New York State.

One year experience in Women's Health OB/GYN preferred.

Phlebotomy.

Effective English communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal.

Basic Life Support certification.

Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval system.
