University Physicians is mid-Missouri's largest multi-specialty group. With more than 600 physicians trained in more than 80 specialties and subspecialties, our physician staff within MU Health Care's hospitals and clinics provide world-class care in mid-Missouri. MU Health Care physicians also serve as faculty members at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, teaching medical students and residents and conducting research

The Plan's primary functions are to:

- Provide timely and accurate charge entry, coding, billing and collection services for plan members.
- Provide accurate, accessible and usable reports and information to members and School of Medicine Departments.
- Negotiate fair payment rates for professional services third party payers.
- Provide quality reporting for regulatory programs.

University Physicians is in search of a Director of Finance to serve as the finance leader for the practice plan. This position reports to the Executive Director, University Physicians. This position has a leadership responsibility for assisting the School of Medicine to achieve its mission and improve the health of all people, especially Missourians, through exemplary education, research and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

* Directs and oversees operational finances, clinical finances, and business operations including analysis of financial performance and strategic planning.
* Directs and oversees physician and APP incentive plan agreements and clinician compensation benchmarking, fair market value analysis, and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
* Directs and oversees the Clinician Recruitment Committee support team including reporting and alignment of clinician recruitment strategic planning with SOM and MUHC.
* Manages and reviews all budgets for University Physicians administrative and clinical departments including MOU's while also leading financial analysis.
* Provides oversight and serves as a resource to various internal and external department leadership and staff on contract processing, financial policies, approvals for journal entries, expense reports and accounts payable matters.
* Responsible for managing accounting structures and development and implementation of new policies, procedures, and requirements while communicating and working with School of Medicine and other internal parties, as required.

Nature of Work:

Directs the operational and financial activities of University Physicians. This may include internal and external financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, auditing, strategic planning, physician compensation and payroll.

* Applies understanding of the organization and how own area integrates with others to achieve functional objectives.
* Advises employees, colleagues, and/or customers inside and outside the function.
* Liaises with department/functional head to accomplish functional goals and objectives.
* Assists other managers as necessary.
* Directs and oversees the development and implementation of short- and long-term plans and strategies for the function.
* Develops and administers policies and practices for the area, aligning with functional policies and practices.
* Adapts department plans and priorities to meet short-term service and/or operational objectives and address any resource and operational challenges.
* Provides recommendations to policies, plans, programs, etc. that improve/enhance efficiencies.
* Identifies and solves highly technical and operational problems.
* Understands and recognizes broader impact across the function and/or department and/or division.
* Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives.
* Guides and influences others either internally or externally to adopt a different point of view.
* Collaborates with others outside of the function, both internally and externally.

* Ability to coach, mentor and empower staff.
* Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Skill and ability in Microsoft Office applications.

Shift

Shift Type: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Office/Administrative Hours: Yes - Position will have Office/Admin Hours

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 7 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Credentials: Certified Healthcare Finance Professional (CHFP), Certified Specialist Physician Practice Management (CSPPM).
Leadership Approach: Experience in directing a successful, highly efficient team, financial analysis, and communicating with leaders in key positions.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $91,124.80-$197,080.00
