Responsibilities

The Lead Intake Coordinator is accountable for coordinating the Assessment and Referral activities at the facility. This position involves extensive contact with the community and interfaces closely with the Director, utilization review staff, Granite Hill Hospital business office staff and clinical staff to ensure continuity of communication. This position is also responsible for inquiry calls, scheduling of evaluations and admissions, completing daily reports, and reconciliation of census.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Human Services field. Licensed Social Worker, LPC, LMFT preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience preferred in a health care setting. Demonstrated knowledge of computer skills and demonstrated knowledge of customer service principles.
  • Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPI training, Service Excellence Training and CPR certification required. Certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation.
  • Additional Skills: Ability to communicate over the telephone and in face-to-face situations. Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all information.

Environmental Conditions: Works in general office environment and hospital units/programs. Exposure to psychiatric patients, who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/bodily fluids and other hazardous waste. General hospital environment.

Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate verbally, telephonically and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping. Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
