Under general supervision works on operational and/or procedural assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving procedural issues. Makes recommendations to improve processes and/or procedures.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $25.72 - $36.59 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.

Required Qualifications


  • High school graduation and four years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing.

  • Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to understand, learn, and operationally utilize various Information Technology systems (e.g., MyCores, Bearbuy, MyExpense, HBS, MyReports, Connexxus, Peoplesoft, ServiceNow, PeopleConnect, APRP, Advance, HR Reports).

  • Must be a team player and thrive in a collaborative environment with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and with a team, demonstrate initiative, prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, and problem solve on an ongoing basis.

  • Requires verbal and written communication skills, active listening, critical thinking, multi-tasking, and time management skills.

  • Familiar with Mac OSX, Windows 7, 8, Windows 10, Linux OS, FreeNAS, and Microsoft Office.

  • Follow-through and initiative.

  • Ability to complete all tasks with detail and precision.

  • Excellent demonstrated record of attendance and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.

  • Minimum of two years of project management and coordinating experience.
