DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will deliver grant support, outreach initiatives, and technical assistance aimed at empowering communities, non-profit organizations, state and local government agencies, and individuals with their projects and management challenges related to recreation, conservation, and natural resources in Region 6. This area encompasses Erie, Crawford, Mercer, Warren, Venango, Forest, Clarion, McKean, Elk, Jefferson, and Clearfield counties. As the Regional Advisor, your responsibilities will include acquiring and maintaining expertise in the principles and practices of environmental conservation, natural resource management, and recreational activities. You will also play a key role in developing and executing large-scale partnership initiatives and conservation strategies, evaluating and scoring grant applications, and offering guidance on partnership frameworks, grant models, and general advice on recreation and conservation matters to stakeholders throughout the region.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.
- Due to the travel requirements of this position, it is requested the selected candidate reside in one of the following counties, or within close proximity to the region's border, within the first 6 months of employment: Erie, Crawford, Mercer, Warren, Venango, Forest, Clarion, McKean, Elk, Jefferson, or Clearfield County. If the selected candidate does not live in Erie, Crawford, Mercer, Warren, Venango, Forest, Clarion, McKean, Elk, Jefferson, or Clearfield county, or within close proximity to the region's border, the assigned state vehicle must be parked in a secured location (approved by management) in one of these counties and the workday will start at the respective start time at the location of the assigned state vehicle or official office location.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Recreation and Conservation Advisor 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of professional experience in parks, recreation, or natural resource conservation administration, planning, or development; and a bachelor's degree in parks and recreation, landscape architecture, environmental sciences, city, regional, urban, or environmental planning, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position requires possession of a valid driver's license.
