Position Summary:
The Systems Analyst is responsible for coordinating and gathering business requirements, conducts need assessments
and develops functional specifications to ensure information technology
solutions support business objectives related to one or more aid programs. This
role ensures that students have reliable access to efficient aid program
services while maintaining data integrity and compliance with institutional,
federal and state aid regulations.

Essential Functions:
System Administration & Support:
-Gathers business requirements, conducts need assessments, and develops functional specifications to ensure that developed information technology solutions support business objectives.
-Provide technical support to program managers to expedite student services.
-Performs business administrative tasks to support one or more aid programs by employing technical solutions for better student experience.
-Create documentation or training materials.
-Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher- level staff.
Data Management Integrity:
-Ensure data integrity, and identify data gaps in one or more aid programs.
-Review reports for data discrepancies and expedites resolutions.
-Generate accurate reports using appropriate tools and databases to support data analysis for informed decision-making.
System Maintenance:
-Assist in the deployment of system upgrades and patches by performing testing (Banner, COD, NSLDS, Cognos, BCM).
-Creates and maintains test plans for upgrades.
-Collaborate with stakeholders in communicating system upgrade changes.

Additional Functions:
-Participate in university-wide events such as Open House, NJIT Experience Day, FAFSA Workshops and Financial Aid Awareness outreach events as needed.
-Perform other related duties.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Typically requires a bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology or a related field.
-0 -2-years of experience in financial aid systems.
-Experience with database management, and report generations.
-Experience with Student Information Systems (SIS) such as Banner or Workday.
-Familiarity with database management and reporting tools (SQL, Cognos, Tableau).
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

-Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
-Ability to train and support a diverse range of users with varying technical proficiency.
