IT Manager - Public Sector, Operations

Job Summary:

The IT Manager oversees the operational and technical activities of the BDO Public Sector technology team and office space. This role is critical for ensuring the seamless functioning of the Public Sector technology infrastructure. The Senior Technology Manager will lead a team of technology professionals, ensuring high performance and reliability of technology services that support the organization's mission.

Job Duties:



  • Provides oversight and strategic direction for the secure configuration and management of Microsoft 365 GCC High services, including Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Purview, and Conditional Access
  • Establishes and governs policies for identity, device, and access management using Zero Trust principles and security baselines
  • Oversees daily operations of the technology office to ensure smooth and efficient functioning
  • Aligns IT strategies with organizational goals and identifies opportunities for new or improved business processes
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to implement business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring critical functions remain operational during incidents
  • Serves as a primary stakeholder for monitoring and driving improvements in IT operational excellence and service delivery, engaging resources to assist as required to meet and exceed service level objective
  • Drives project-related change management, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and scope
  • Leads the technology team to build and maintain cloud, network, and on-premises serves, as well as to provide timely and effective support to end-users
  • Supervises and mentors IT staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Oversees IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Oversees the deployment of security technologies such as MFA, FIDO2, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and mobile device management (MDM) within a GCC High tenant
  • Aligns enterprise IT planning with cybersecurity risk management strategies using frameworks such as NIST CSF and NIST RMF
  • Ensures adequate staffing levels and manages recruitment for the technology office
  • Exercises effective team management to include fostering individual development, performance management, open communication, and innovative ideas to enable business objectives
  • Reviews or conducts assessments of technology programs and projects
  • Evaluates emerging technologies, tools, and cloud capabilities
  • Drives adoption of automation, analytics, and artificial intelligence within the scope of cybersecurity and IT operations, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:



  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Annual 40 hours of continuous learning, (may include professional memberships, forums, lunch and learns, roundtables, online training courses, and maintaining certifications), required


Experience:



  • Five (5) or more years of relevant experience, required


License/Certifications:



  • Certifications that address project management, security and risk management, cloud security, operations, assessments and audits, and organizational security, preferred


Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, NIST CSF, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC
  • Knowledge of how technology needs are translated, tracked, and prioritized across the enterprise
  • Ability to ensure security practices are followed throughout the acquisition process
  • Knowledge of controls related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of data
  • Skill to effectively communicate, plan, and organize, to drive execution and accountability
  • Skill to be a self-starter with a sense of responsibility, urgency, and ownership
  • Demonstrates an executive presence and presentation skills to effectively influence upward decision-making
  • Ability to proactively resolve problems and deliver results
  • Knowledge of strategic planning and operational management
