Vice President, Supply Chain Strategy & Management - Global

The Vice President, Global Supply Chain Planning Management is centrally responsible for developing and executing Alcon's global supply chain strategy. They will influence and implement industry-best practices that include all aspects of a modern, end-to-end supply chain with clarity in processes, systems and people responsibility from suppliers and manufacturing plants, to intercompany hubs and distribution centers, to customers and patients globally. The role makes significant decisions to ensure product output meets customer expectations while optimizing inventory levels. The role champions the evaluation and adoption of progressive systems and processes to optimize and track supply chain performance.

They will lead a high performing Global Supply Chain team that puts customers first while demonstrating entrepreneurial business acumen. The role will lead the team to surpass business objectives amidst an increasingly competitive and complex, regulated global medical device marketplace.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in global supply chain operations applicable to the healthcare industry and demonstrate a proven ability to lead intricate, regulated supply networks in complex environments. This position requires visionary leadership, strategic planning, and advanced problem-solving skills. The leader is expected to foster a culture of excellence through an inspirational strategy, effective performance management, activating talent development, enhancing associate engagement and leveraging meaningful recognition.

Strategic Leadership:
Lead a best-in-class global supply chain strategy that aligns with company goals for uninterrupted product supply through state-of-the art digital solutions from customer experience to warehouse operations and plant integrations; ensuring resource and cost competitiveness and focus on growth and customer-oriented solutions.

End-to-End Supply Chain Management:
Oversee global planning, logistics, and distribution operations to ensure accurate, scalable, and responsive supply chain performance. Maintain global transportation network including mode management to provide exceptional service positioned to generate industry competitive advantage.

Operational Excellence:
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and promote the use of Lean, Six Sigma, and digital transformation to optimize processes, manage costs, and improve agility. Maintain top quartile performance as measured by defined metrics such as: on time in full (OTIF), speed to market,

customer service levels, total inventory and write-offs, global cost to serve, financial performance, and overall adherence to safety, quality, regulatory and compliance standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner seamlessly across the enterprise with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Commercial, Manufacturing and Finance teams to proactively support the global product portfolio, including new products and market expansions. Effectively collaborate to proactively resolve any supply vs demand disconnects across Alcon's portfolio.

Technology Enablement:
Lead the implementation and optimization of supply chain technologies and systems (ERP, demand planning, inventory optimization, etc.) to support data-driven decision-making. Enable superior customer connectivity through advanced digital interfaces and predictive ordering and replenishment.

Regulatory & Quality Compliance:
Ensure all supply chain operations meet international regulatory standards across all franchise requirements. Adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training. Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to successful operations.

Team Leadership & Development:
Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing global supply chain team. Cultivate a culture of accountability, innovation, and success. Keep in close contact to industry best practices through consultant and academic links to stay in front of trends.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree; Preferred (MBA, MS, PhD) in Science (Engineering, Pharmaceutical Technology or related fields), Economics/Finance or General Management.

Experience Desired:
A minimum of 15 years of progressive global supply chain experience with a large ($5B-$10B) organization including a minimum of 12 years of Demonstrated Leadership Experience.
