Job Description

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) invites applications for a full-time, Business Services Consultant position to join our Office of Administrative Operations. This position will manage the financial and business activities of three departments within the College of Health Sciences including management of the day-to-day business operations, preparation and oversight of departmental budgets. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, detail and solution oriented with the ability to demonstrate flexibility and work collaboratively.

About the Office of Administrative Operations
The Office of Administrative Operations is a centralized staff team that provides service, guidance, support, and oversight to CHS in the areas of general administrative assistance, special projects/operations and events, fiscal, and human resources.

Job Duties

  • Manage fiscal and reporting activities for assigned portfolio of CHS departments consisting of general operating accounts, service operations, gift/endowment accounts, grants, and clinical operations
  • Prepare, enter and monitor annual and special project budgets in collaboration with department chairs and directors
  • Review and approve all financial transactions (vouchers, expense reports, requisitions and reimbursements)
  • Perform reconciliation of assigned expense accounts and payroll activity
  • Ensure assigned departments are compliant with all college, campus and UM System business and financial policies and procedures
  • Review internal MOUs and contracts/agreements with third party vendors
  • Assist with and prepare evidentiary documents for internal CHS audits
  • Oversee cash advance and participant payment process ensuring that compliance standards are met
  • Assist with special projects/assignments from development, execution to completion. Documenting and reporting operational processes to leadership as requested.
  • Manage and reconcile transactions originating from departmental Marketplace payment portals
  • Coordinate and ensure completion of annual compliance requests, i.e., capital inventory, spend analysis, etc.
  • Monitor and resolve departmental BCM errors
  • Other duties as assigned

8:00am - 5:00pm

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 5 years of progressively responsible fiscal and budgetary experience in an academic setting. Experience with Peoplesoft, Workday, Power BI and Office Connect.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Anticipated Hiring Range: $51,875.20 - $81,744.00
Grade: GGS 9E
