Oversees the operations of the lodging and patient assistance supportive services programs designed to support and reduce barriers to care for patients and their families at UVA Health University Medical Center. The lodging programs plays a vital role in freeing up inpatient beds. This role ensures access to accommodations for patients and families traveling long distances for medical treatment, patients who are ready for discharge but need to stay close to the hospital, and patients who need to be closely monitored in a supportive, non-clinical setting. This role includes the management of a hospitality house and oversight of contracted hotels, as well as all aspects of patient and family assistance supported through philanthropy. The manager is responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience, managing day-to-day operations, supervising staff, and increasing awareness of this resource-fostering relationships with community partners and donors to support the growth and sustainability of the programs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with hotel or lodging management software is a plus. This position may require evening, weekend, or on-call hours to ensure the program operates 24/7. Occasional travel to partner hotels and community meetings may be required.
