Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated APP healthcare professional to join our team. The successful candidate will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide care for admitted patients.

Key Position Details:

  • Location: Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, MN

  • Setting: Large urban quaternary care center with full specialty coverage

  • Schedule: Full-time, 10 hour day/evening shifts

  • Team Composition: Part of a large hospitalist group (80+ physicians), including 6 nocturnists and 8+ APPs

  • Patient Volume: Provide and manage care for admitted patients

Job Description:

Our APP Hospitalist responsibilities include patient assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and communication with primary care physicians. The role involves working as part of a physician/nurse team, focusing on both acute and chronic conditions. Additionally, the candidate will serve as an educator, case manager, and consultant to staff and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Consults with physician when patient needs outside of scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear and refers for specialty care when needed.
  • Acts as resource to members of the team.
  • Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.
  • Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients if designated by the specialty.
  • Three full time APP Hospitalist openings

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Master's degree Completion of accredited Physician Assistant program or
  • Master's degree completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Certification of CNP through ANCC or PA certification through NCCPA
  • Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for credentialing/licensing.

Physical Demands

Pay Range

Pay Range: $127,174 to $159,420 per year The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
